Accident Report
March 25, 2026, Jordan McDonald lost his life in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident at about 5:30 a.m. along San Jacinto Street.
According to authorities, 28-year-old Jordan McDonald was traveling on a southbound motorcycle on San Jacinto Street at the Semands Avenue intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the motorcycle failed to safely navigate a curve in the roadway. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a curb.
McDonald—who had reportedly sustained fatal injuries over the course of the accident—was declared deceased at the scene. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
To be honest, motorcyclists tend to get a bad rap. People will look at almost any accident involving a motorcycle—whether or not any other vehicles were involved—and jump to conclusions that the person that was riding the motorcycle must have been the problem. I, however, have learned over the three decades I’ve been in this line of business not to make those assumptions. Why? Because I’ve seen cases that go against the grain of the stereotype.
I know this might sound far-fetched, but indulge my hypothetical. What if the motorcycle was suffered from a mechanical issue at that critical moment? A steering problem, a brake malfunction, a tire failure, a throttle issue; any one of these things could have been an underlying cause that led the motorcycle to strike that curb.
Hopefully, the authorities who are in charge of investigating this accident don’t make the mistake of falling into the “it must have been driver error” mindset. If they are blinded to other possible causes, then the actual cause might never be unearthed. If need be, a third party investigation can always be conducted in order to make sure all the bases are covered.
What are your thoughts? Do you think my hypothetical too unlikely, or do you agree its worth investigating? Feel free to leave a comment below letting me know.
