Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Something I always try to press upon people is that OSHA finding violations does not always mean things are open-and-shut. Texas has the most complex work accident fatality laws in the whole country. There isn’t always some guaranteed process for taking care of everything. A lot of the time, it takes a combined effort from authorities, the worker’s family, and independent professionals who are working for the family’s best interests. It’s possible all of the proper steps were already taken here to find out the best path forward for this worker’s loved ones. It’s just important that people don’t take fair resolutions for granted when they can be incredibly challenging to achieve.
