How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports indicate a westbound pickup crashed head-on with a semi-truck, but we don’t know why. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Was he avoiding an obstacle in the road? Did the Ram have a problem with its brakes or steering? I can’t answer those questions from my keyboard, so it’s up to investigators to figure out what happened on U.S. 190.

Investigators should keep these questions in mind as they pore over evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video of the crash. Their efforts should unearth details to explain how this crash unfolded, so the Ram driver’s family has answers to its lingering questions about the accident.
