Port Arthur, TX — February 21, 2024, Jonathan Dowell was injured in a motorcycle versus car accident at approximately 8:40 p.m. along Memorial Boulevard.
According to authorities, a Nissan Altima was at a stop facing east on Port Plaza Drive at the Memorial Boulevard, the U.S. 69 southbound service road, when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Nissan failed to yield the right of way to Memorial Boulevard traffic, attempting a right turn at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the back left of the Nissan and the front end of a southbound motorcycle occupied by Jonathan Dowell.
Dowell incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
