Accident Report
May 10, 2026, Johnashia Thomas and one other were injured following a car accident that took place around 9:00 p.m. on Highway 6.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened at the intersection of TX-6 and Park West Central Drive, just north of the Westpark Tollway and Alief Clodine Road.
Investigators said that a 29-year-old man and 30-year-old Johnashia Thomas were in a Mercedes-Benz going southbound on the highway. A Hyundai Elantra was going eastbound. Authorities say that the Hyundai failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in the two vehicles crashing.
Johnashia Thomas reportedly sustained serious injuries in the crash while the Mercedes-Benz driver had moderate injuries. Reports did not mention other injuries. Authorities recommended charging the Hyundai driver for allegedly running the stop sign.

How Did This Accident Occur?
With police saying a driver went through a stop sign, this all seems pretty open-and-shut. But finding out why that happened is also important for a car crash investigation. For example, things might not be so challenging if the driver was just looking at their phone or being impatient. However, things could be far more challenging if they were under the influence of alcohol, couldn’t see the sign due to obstructions at the intersection, or couldn’t stop because something was wrong with their car.
That’s why it’s important investigations are thorough and don’t simply stop at the easy explanation. If there’s more to the story, it needs to be brought to light. Or, those other possibilities can be definitively ruled out so the victims and families involved have as much evidence telling their side of the story as possible. In my experience, that’s how people get the best outcomes after a crash. I don’t see any reason right now why this crash would be an exception to that.
