Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of my main concerns following any motorcycle wreck is whether investigations are being handled properly and fairly. The unfortunate reality is a lot of people are negatively biased against motorcyclists—something riders know all too well. As a result, authorities sometimes jump to conclusions instead of taking the time to let the evidence speak for itself.
It’s possible independent investigations into this particular crash would show that authorities were careful to focus only on the facts. However, if independent investigations instead revealed there was a lot of speculation going on, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time.
