Benbrook, TX — March 1, 2025, Joceline Miramontes was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 5:10 a.m. on Interstate 20.
A preliminary accident report indicates a 1999 Acura CL 3.0 was headed west near Winscott Road when its driver lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier.
Passenger Joceline Miramontes, 28, suffered suspected serious injuries in the crash, according to authorities.
The driver, a 24-year-old man, has been charged with intoxication assault with serious bodily harm, the report states. He suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Tarrant County crash.

When a crash happens at 5 a.m. and authorities determine the driver was intoxicated, it raises an important question: Where did they get their alcohol?
Texas law is clear: bars and restaurants cannot legally serve alcohol to someone who is already obviously intoxicated. If a business continued serving this driver past that point, they may share responsibility for what happened.
Dram shop laws exist to hold negligent alcohol providers accountable and to discourage unsafe alcohol service. A thorough investigation should determine where this driver was drinking and whether an establishment violated the law. Ensuring accountability isn’t just about this crash. It’s about making sure alcohol providers follow the law to prevent future drunk driving accidents.
