How Did This Accident Occur?

Most people who read about a crash like this probably would blame the rain for causing this accident, but in my experience the weather is a factor in traffic accidents, not the cause. Maybe the driver was distracted or fatigued. Maybe she swerved to avoid another vehicle. Maybe the Ford had an issue with its steering mechanism.

Investigators should be able to get to the bottom of what caused this crash by poring over vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and any available video footage, while cell phone records could show if the driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time.

If authorities suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash, a qualified expert should examine the Ford in a laboratory setting. That is beyond the capabilities of most law enforcement agencies, in my experience, but the driver and her family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
