How Did This Accident Occur?

When vehicles going the same direction collide, it’s often a sign of distracted driving, unsafe speeds, or following too closely. However, there could be unavoidable factors at work, as well. Vehicle defects, medical emergencies, road hazards, etc. One good way to put the facts together is to look for any possible video evidence.

Teslas often capture video of accidents, so is that something authorities were able to preserve here? I’ve certainly seen a lot of car accidents where authorities missed something that one would think is pretty obvious. That’s when independent investigators might have to step in and pick up the slack. Either way, it’s important to let the evidence speak for itself, and these preliminary reports seem far from telling the full story.
