How Did This Accident Occur?

The question that hasn’t been answered at this point is why this truck left the interstate near Fosters. Was the driver distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? Did another vehicle force the truck off the road? Did the truck have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? The only way to answer those questions is to wait until a full investigation of this crash is completed.

Cell phone records could show what the truck driver was doing at the time of the crash. Witness statements or video footage could tell investigators if another vehicle was involved in the crash. But figuring out if the truck had a mechanical issue is likely beyond the capabilities of official investigators, in my experience. The truck needs to be checked out by a qualified expert in a laboratory setting.

If any problems are discovered with the truck, investigators should look into maintenance records to determine if it was something that should have been repaired before the truck was put out on the road.

The family that is grieving this crash deserves to know as much as possible about what happened, and everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
