Orange County, TX — February 17, 2024, Jermaine Powell and Richard Duhon were injured in a truck accident sometime after 4:00 a.m. along I.H. 10.
According to authorities, 51-year-old Jermaine Powell was traveling in a westbound 18-wheeler along Interstate Highway 10 when the accident took place.
The causal factors that led to the crash are unclear. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the 18-wheeler lost control, veering left and colliding with a concrete barrier. The crash caused the vehicle to overturn, partially entering the inside eastbound lane of the highway. A westbound pickup truck occupied by 69-year-old Richard Duhon reportedly crashed into the tractor-trailer, as well.
Both Duhon and Powell incurred injuries of apparently varying severity. They were each transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
