Wood County, TX — July 18, 2024, Jennifer Michinski and one other person were injured in a pedestrian versus car accident just before 7:45 p.m. along U.S. 80.
According to authorities, 31-year-old Jennifer Michinski was on foot outside her Ford F-150 which was east-facing in the north shoulder of U.S. 80 along with another Ford F-150 in the vicinity east of F.M. 2659 when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Ford F-150 occupied by two men ages 34 and 35 and towing a trailer failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered into the north shoulder of the highway, resulting in a collision with the two stationary pickups there. The trailer became disconnected from the pickup over the course of the accident, also colliding with one of the pickups.
Michinski suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck. The 35-year-old from the striking pickup sustained moderate injuries, as well, according to reports. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
