San Antonio, TX — August 21, 2025, Jeanette Espitia was killed as the result of a car versus pedestrian accident around 10:30 p.m. on SE Military Drive.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened at the intersection of Southeast Military Drive and Old Corpus Christi Highway.
Investigators said that Jeanette Espitia was on foot at the time in the area of eastbound lanes of Military Drive. While there, a passing vehicle struck Jeanette Espitia. Jeanette Espitia was killed as a result.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly remained at the scene. No further information about the accident is available at this time.

One of the main challenges with pedestrian accidents is they’re not often seen as a high priority. Authorities might move on without really digging into the details if they feel they have more important things to attend to. Meanwhile, though, there’s a family in need of answers.
That’s why it’s important to follow up with the authorities as soon as possible. If it seems like they’re taking proper steps to get a family the answers they need, that’s good. But if it seems like their efforts are leaving doubts or questions, it may be time for more thorough independent investigators to step in.
