On top of the fact authorities may still be looking for a runaway driver here, it could also make things challenging that the victim involved was a passenger. Generally speaking, there aren’t many situations where a passenger contributes to their own injuries in a car accident. As such, investigations typically have to consider the actions of all the drivers involved in the accident, as Texas law is nuanced enough that multiple people may be held accountable for their role in someone’s injuries. That’s why it’s important accidents like this get as much attention as possible so that nothing important slips through the cracks.
