Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Something to consider after any fatal work accident is that Texas has the most complex work fatality laws of any other state in the country. Despite what many think, there is not always an automatic process for getting families the resolution they deserve. Many find themselves up against an employer whose only priority is to look out for their own interests.

As such, families generally need the right evidence and legal tools on their side to keep the scales balanced. Regardless of what OSHA ultimately determines in their investigations here, there may need to be significant steps to ensure there’s a just outcome for a family who lost their loved one on the job.
