Dansville, NY — January 9, 2024, Jason Marshall was killed and Timothy Washburn was injured after an 18-wheeler accident at 10:45 p.m. on I-390.
Preliminary details about the deadly wreck say it took place along northbound lanes of the interstate. It appears there are currently pending charges relating to the crash.
New York State Police say that 38-year-old Jason Marshall and 18-year-old Timothy Washburn were on foot along the right side shoulder of the interstate. They were by a disabled 18-wheeler and a utility vehicle that was stopped to assist. While there, police say that a passing tractor-trailer somehow crashed into the stationary vehicles, hitting Marshall and Washburn in the process.
Due to the collision, Marshall sustained fatal injuries. Washburn was taken from the scene with unspecified injuries. The other truck driver appeared to be uninjured.
Right now, authorities say the truck driver who hit Marshall and Washburn is facing charges, including vehicular manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by drugs. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
