Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

The challenge with pedestrian accidents is that people tend to assume that they’re always open-and-shut. But just like any serious accident, they can involve unusual, sometimes unpredictable circumstances. If authorities don’t actually take the time to consider these possibilities, they may end up moving on before they’ve actually told the whole story.

Needless to say, a family who loses a loved one deserves to know they’re getting the whole story. That’s why accidents which don’t initially get the attention they deserve fare better when independent investigators are able to pick up the slack and fill in any gaps the preliminary investigations may have left behind.
