Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A lot of folks think a situation like this is open-and-shut once authorities cite or charge a driver. The reality is authorities don’t always gather all of the evidence a family needs to get the complete picture. They might do enough to file certain charges or citations, but that doesn’t always completely cover the full scope of what contributed to the crash. That’s why, even if it seems a driver is being held accountable, it can take secondary independent investigators to get all the facts after a crash. The same could prove true here.
