Milam County, TX — November 4, 2023, Janette Camacho was killed following a car versus pedestrian accident at around 4:00 a.m. along West Cameron Avenue.
Authorities said in preliminary public statements that the accident happened off the corner of the Cameron Avenue/U.S. Highway 79 and Scarbrough Street intersection.
According to officials, 23-year-old Janette Camacho was on foot at the time on the sidewalk along the side of the roadway. At that crossing, a Nissan Sentra left the roadway, striking Camacho. As a result, Camacho was killed.
The driver, a 19-year-old, apparently fell asleep at the wheel, according to current public statements. No charges or citations were reported. Right now, other possible factors remain unconfirmed pending investigations.
