Harris County, TX — May 8, 2025, James Morrison Jr. and Valerie Morrison were injured in an alleged hit-and-run accident around 1:00 a.m. along Thompson Road.
Authorities said in preliminary details that the crash happened at Thompson Road and East Wallisville Road.
Investigators said that 56-year-old James Morrison Jr. and Valerie Morrison were in a Ford F-150 going eastbound on Wallisville. At Thompson, authorities say a northbound Chevy Tahoe ran the light and crashed into the Ford. The Chevy driver then allegedly ran from the scene.
Due to the crash, James Morrison Jr. was seriously injured while Valerie Morrison’s injuries were called moderate. Details suggest authorities identified the runaway driver.

It’s good to see authorities identified a suspect here, but did they ever consider why the driver ran? It’s rarely just panic about the accident itself. More often, there’s something specific they didn’t want authorities to know about, like warrants or drunk driving. If there’s accountability, it should be for all of the mistakes surrounding the accident.
