Accident Report

April 16, 2026, James Bradley was killed as the result of an alleged hit-and-run accident at 7:50 p.m. along Tomball Parkway.

Harris County officials say that the crash happened in the area of the Tomball Parkway and Schroeder Road intersection. It appears that James Bradley was on foot at the time in the area of the northbound lanes of Highway 249. While there, authorities say a vehicle struck James Bradley, then allegedly left the scene. James Bradley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say they identified and located the alleged runaway driver. They recommended a charge for failure to stop and render aid. Additional details are unavailable at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

As important as it is to hold someone accountable for leaving the scene of an accident, it’s still important to get answers about the accident itself. It could be that the driver was on their phone, and they ran because of something unrelated they didn’t want police to find out about (for example, warrants). Or, it could be that the driver was drunk, leading to the accident and the driver running because they were scared of getting caught for drunk driving.

In either situation, families deserve answers, and they deserve to know there will be full accountability for all factors surrounding the accident. I’ve seen too many situations where authorities get tunnel vision and focus only on the most obvious factor stemming from the crash. But just because they’re recommending a charge against a driver for allegedly fleeing an accident scene doesn’t mean they’re getting the full story. There may still be a lot more to this situation that needs further investigations.
