June 1, 2026, James Baker was killed and four were injured after a car accident around 1:24 a.m. along Loop 250.
According to current news reports, the crash happened in the area of Loop 250 and Fairgrounds Road.
Authorities said that 18-year-old James Baker and four others were in a Ford F-150. There was apparently an altercation or chase with someone in a Dodge Ram, reports say. That reportedly led to the Ford crashing into a barrier.
James Baker reportedly died due to the accident. Four occupants from the Ford had serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge is apparently facing a charge for murder in connection with the crash.

Authorities have made their allegations, and they’re certainly serious. As their investigations continue, it is somewhat encouraging to see mention of pulling surveillance video. That’s one of those things I too often see authorities overlook. Hopefully the inclusion of that evidence is a sign they’re being as thorough as possible going forward.
