Jefferson County, AL — March 22, 2024, Jamaiyia Foote was killed while Rafael Andablo and a child were injured in a truck accident at about 2:00 p.m. along I.H. 59.
According to authorities, 49-year-old Rafael Andablo and a 3-year-old child were traveling in a pickup truck on Interstate Highway 59 in the vicinity of Jaybird Road when the accident took place.

The causal factors that led to the accident remain unclear. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the pickup truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered off of the roadway and crashed into a cable barrier before becoming airborne. A collision between the pickup truck and the 18-wheeler occupied by Jamaiyia Foote followed.
Foote incurred fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. Andablo was reportedly ejected during the course of the accident and both he and the 3-year-old child sustained injuries of unknown severity. They were transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. Allegedly, none of the victims were restrained at the time of the crash.
