Amarillo, TX — October 5, 2025, Jaime Aguayo Caballero was killed due to a hit-and-run accident around 11:18 p.m. along North Mirror Street.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened just off Mirror Street and East Amarillo Boulevard.
Investigators said that 74-year-old Jaime Aguayo Caballero was on foot at the time. While walking, a northbound vehicle struck Jaime Aguayo Caballero. The vehicle then reportedly fled the scene. Jaime Aguayo Caballero was killed due to the accident.
Authorities did not release any details about the runaway vehicle. Investigations continue.

If authorities are able to put more information out to the public, that could go a long way in helping find the suspect driver. A lot of the time, someone is able to connect dots authorities couldn’t. Hopefully continued support from the community will lead to accountability and a proper resolution for the victim’s loved ones.
