Haven, KS — January 10, 2024, Jaedyn Douglas was killed in a truck accident shortly after 12:00 noon along State Highway 96.
According to authorities, an 18-wheeler was stopped and partially blocking one lane of travel on S.H. 96 in the vicinity of the West Main Street intersection, allegedly in order to assist another stranded driver, when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Kia Sportage occupied by 23-year-old Jaedyn Douglas and a minor collided with the back right corner of the 18-wheeler. The crash caused the Kia to go into a spin before coming to a stop on the shoulder on the right side of the road. Douglas incurred reportedly fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene of the accident. It is not known at this time whether or not the other occupant of the Kia sustained any injuries.
