Accident Report
July 11, 2026, two people were killed and Jacqueline Schroeder and another were injured after a car accident at 2:12 p.m. on US 183.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened several miles southeast of Lampasas near Ranch to Market 963.
According to officials, 76-year-old Jacqueline Schroeder and a 74-year-old man were in a Lincoln Nautilus going northwest on the highway. A 26-year-old Austin man and a 24-year-old man were in a Hyundai Accent going southeast. Authorities say that Hyundai got onto oncoming lanes, and it crashed with the Lincoln.
Due to the collision, the two men from the Hyundai were killed. Jacqueline Schroeder and the driver of the Lincoln were injured. Right now, the cause of the crash was unclear.
How Did This Accident Occur?
A vehicle can be on the wrong side of the road for many reasons. It might experience a tire blowout and veer out of its lane. The driver might be distracted or impaired. A lot of this evidence may be time sensitive, so stepping in to secure as soon as possible is important.
If authorities are including that in their efforts, that’s a good sign they’re working to get all the victims and families involved here clear answers. But if it turns out authorities lack the experience or tools to secure this kind of information, then independent investigators may need to step in so nothing important slips through the cracks.
