When it comes to accidents involving teen drivers, I’m always curious to see what steps authorities took to investigate the crash. Unfortunately, a lot of accidents like this end up mishandled or tossed aside, as investigators are likely to just assume the young driver was doing something wrong. Maybe that didn’t happen here, but it’s all too common.
Obviously, inexperienced drivers make mistakes. However, it’s up to the evidence to say that one way or the other. Teen drivers deserve as much grace as anyone else—regardless of age—until all the facts are clear. If authorities can’t show they took that kind of care with the facts here, then a secondary independent investigation might uncover something new.
