How Did This Accident Occur?
When vehicles going the opposite direction collide, it’s usually because someone was on their phone and drifted left of center or because someone attempted to make a left turn when they shouldn’t have. However, it’s important to consider all possible factors and not simply the ones that are most common.
For example, I rarely see authorities consider road design in crashes like this. Something like the road’s speed limit could lead to vehicles losing control if vehicles can’t safely go that fast due to the road’s construction or layout. Likely or not, a proper accident reconstruction should at least be able to rule that out. If authorities can’t or won’t do that, then it’s only natural that victims and families would want to see independent investigators step in and get a clearer picture of what went wrong.
If anyone’s from this area, what are your thoughts? Could this road be in need of changes and improvements? Let me know in the comments.
