How Did This Accident Occur?

Details about this crash are sparse at this point. Hopefully that is because authorities are busy investigating the crash, not because they don’t know what happened. The investigation should provide a clear picture of how these three vehicles came together on State Route 126.

Investigators will work to reconstruct this crash by poring over physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing before the crash.

If investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to the crash, then an outside expert likely will be needed to complete a forensic examination of the vehicles. Most law enforcement agencies do not have the time or training for more than a cursory inspection in my experience.

A thorough investigation should answer any lingering questions that those affected by this crash have about what happened.
