Accident Report
July 8, 2026, Israel Gomez and Reanna Haney were injured following an alleged hit-and-run accident at 8:48 p.m. along the Southwest Freeway.
According to officials, 41-year-old Israel Gomez and 40-year-old Reanna Haney were in a Buick Regal going westbound. Police say that a Nissan was going northbound when it crashed with the Buick. Due to the collision, both Israel Gomez and Reanna Haney were injured.
Authorities allege that the Nissan driver had been drinking and failed to stop and render aid. They recommended a charge for the latter. Additional details are unavailable at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
These are obviously some serious allegations. If they’re true, then this would go to show why hit-and-runs often raise red flags for drunk driving. Drivers are worried about getting caught not for the accident itself but for driving drunk. If that happened here, hopefully authorities are continuing their investigations into where the driver got their alcohol from. A charge for failure to stop and render aid might just be the tip of the iceberg if this crash also involved a local bar or liquor store unlawfully over-serving a driver who then caused a serious accident. However, it might take secondary independent investigations to dig into all of that if authorities have already moved on to other responsibilities.
