It’s obviously concerning for a vehicle to go up a one-way ramp like what’s described here. But it’s always important to consider even unusual possibilities. There’s no telling what authorities may have overlooked in the initial investigations.
For example, I recall a crash from a while back out in West Texas where, according to police, someone ran a stop sign, and a truck hit and killed them. That’s all anyone knew for some time. Well, a friend of the firm in accident reconstruction clued us in on details that were never publicized. Apparently, TxDOT had removed the stop sign at the crossing while doing construction work. At the end of the day, they left, but they forgot to put the sign back. So, the sign the victim supposedly ran wasn’t even there when the crash happened.
I’m not saying that happened here, and obviously that’s an unusual situation. However, that’s precisely why thorough investigations are so important. If something unusual does lead to an accident, that evidence needs to be brought to light. Otherwise, it could only further harm someone who’s going through enough as it is.
