Collin County, TX — December 8, 2025, Ishwor Koirala, Kabindra Koirala and others were injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at 9:05 p.m. on Southview Drive/FM 1378.
Investigators said they responded to the area of Kenwood Trail south of Lucas.
It appears Ishwor Koirala, Kabindra Koirala, and three others were in a Mazda going southeast along the roadway. A Dodge Ram going the opposite direction was reportedly on the wrong side of the road, and the vehicles collided.
Due to the accident, Ishwor Koirala and another passenger from the Mazda were seriously injured. Kabindra Koirala and one of the other passengers had moderate injuries. Authorities allege that the Dodge driver was under the influence of alcohol. They recommended charges.

If it’s true alcohol contributed to this accident, it wouldn’t be at all surprising. When someone gets on the wrong side of the road, evidence almost always shows they were under the influence of alcohol. What can be surprising to folks, though, is when accountability extends beyond the alleged drunk drivers alone. A lot of the time, there’s an accomplice who needs to be held accountable, as well: a negligent alcohol provider.
Simply put, bars and other establishments in Texas break the law when they over-serve someone who is obviously intoxicated. Getting someone to the point they can’t tell which way is which virtually always involves someone being over-served. That’s why it’s important to find out where the alcohol came from and see any negligent alcohol providers who contributed to the crash are held accountable.
Too often, authorities overlook this area of the law. Their investigations typically begin and end at the crash scene. But if families are going to get the help they need and see full accountability for the harm done to them, investigations need to consider all potential wrongdoers—not just the most obvious one. So if there hasn’t yet been an investigation into where the alleged drunk driver was coming from before the crash, there could be more to this story.
