Reeves County, TX — March 29, 2025, Idania Tarin Bernal was injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 9:45 p.m. along US 285.
According to preliminary statements, the crash took place outside of Pecos just west of Highway 302.
Investigators said that 44-year-old Idania Tarin Bernal was in a Nissan Kicks going southeast on the highway. Due to events not clear right now, the vehicle lost control and crashed. Idania Tarin Bernal reportedly had serious injuries as a result.
Investigators did not release any additional details about the accident. Investigations are ongoing.

Something I get calls about a lot is people worried about how to tell their side of the story. Especially in single vehicle accidents where authorities might be biased, it can be important to make sure investigations are being done fairly.
A surface-level examination may only look at things like vehicle speeds, alcohol or drugs, and possible distraction. A proper accident reconstruction, however, should expand to things like medical conditions, tire failure, road conditions, signage and lighting, road design, and possible vehicle defects.
Likely or not, it’s important to rule out all possibilities. Investigations that don’t do that only risk missing something important, so it’s only reasonable victims and families might look to independent investigators if it seems like authorities are getting tunnel vision.
