Houston, TX — April 27, 2025, Huy Ngoc Nguyen and one other were injured following a car accident at around 9:18 a.m. along Beltway 8.
According to initial details from authorities, the incident happened at Sam Houston Parkway and Harwin Drive.
Investigators said that 54-year-old Huy Nguyen was in a Toyota Rav4 going northbound along Sam Houston. At Harwin Drive, authorities say that an eastbound Honda Accord allegedly fleeing police ran the stoplight and crashed into Huy Nguyen and another vehicle.
Due to the collision, Huy Nguyen reportedly had serious injuries while the Honda driver had minor injuries. Police did not release any additional details.

Even if the allegations here are true, it’s important to understand that a driver allegedly breaking the law does not guarantee the victims and families affected will get the help they need. At the end of the day, police have their own priorities, and those don’t necessarily align with the needs of people harmed by a car accident. Those investigations require specific evidence so there is proof of what led to the victims’ injuries.
