Brazoria County, TX — December 24, 2023, a Houston woman was injured following a car accident at around 11:30 p.m. on Highway 288.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened along the northbound lanes of Highway 288 where it crosses over West Mulberry Street.

According to officials, a 25-year-old Houston woman was in a Hyundai Elantra traveling along the highway when the vehicle somehow lost control. The Hyundai left its lane and crashed into the guardrail. After this, authorities say that the woman got out of her vehicle and was on the outside lane as an Infiniti approached. That vehicle struck the woman in the roadway.

As a result of the accident, the Houston woman had injuries described as serious. The driver of the Infiniti apparently was not hurt. Right now, additional details surrounding the accident are unavailable.
