Tyler, TX — January 3, 2024, a Houston man was injured as the result of a car versus pedestrian accident at around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 69.

Preliminary information released about the accident says that the collision occurred along northbound lanes of the highway near the intersection of County Road 490.

In their statements, authorities said that a 40-year-old Houston man was on foot at the time and reportedly attempting to cross over U.S. 69. While in the northbound lanes, a Ford Escape did not avoid the man in time, striking him in the right lane of travel.

Due to the collision, the Houston man sustained apparently serious injuries. The driver was not hurt. Authorities have not said if any charges or citations were filed. No further information is available at this time.
