August 24, 2026, one person was killed following a house fire accident that took place around 4:00 a.m. on Louis Lambert Road.

Initial reports on the fire say it happened at a home off Bar B Q Road and Allengin Road, north of Lufkin. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Officials say that one person was found in the home. They reportedly were pronounced deceased.

At this time, circumstances surrounding the fire are still under investigation.
