How Did This Accident Occur?
Initial reports indicate that this crash happened because one vehicle hydroplaned into oncoming traffic, but weather conditions don’t eliminate the need for careful analysis.
Investigators should inspect the Chevrolet to determine if worn tires, brake problems or an alignment issue hampered its ability to stay in its own lane. The car’s engine control module should reveal details about its speed, steering and braking before the crash. The Volkswagen’s systems should be checked as well to determine if there is anything its driver could have done to prevent this crash.
Those affected by this crash deserve answers, even if there needs to be an independent investigation to provide them.
