Hidalgo County, TX — December 4, 2025, two people were injured following a car accident at around 11:25 p.m. along Edinburg Avenue.

Investigators said that the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 107 and Westgate Drive.

According to officials, a man, a woman, and a baby were in a Nissan Juke going northbound through the intersection. A Chevy Silverado was going westbound. The vehicles reportedly crashed at the intersection. Authorities allege the Chevy driver then fled the scene.

The man and woman in the Nissan had serious injuries while the child’s condition wasn’t confirmed. It’s unclear if authorities identified, arrested, or charged the Chevy driver.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

If authorities know the vehicle that’s involved here, that usually means it’s just a matter of time before they identify and locate the driver. If that happened here, hopefully they’re taking steps to see there’s accountability—both for leaving the scene and for any mistakes contributing to the crash.

If the runaway driver has yet to be located, though, putting more information out to the public could be helpful. Someone may be able to connect the dots and help lead authorities to the right person. In my experience, putting a hit-and-run in front of as many eyes as possible is a prudent way to ensure there’s eventually a resolution.
