UPDATE (September 23, 2024): Further information from authorities suggest they identified the driver involved in the accident. There appears to be a pending charge recommended for failure to stop and render aid involving death. But is that all there is to the story? Generally speaking, there’s a reason drivers leave an accident scene, and that often calls for consequences. Drunk driving, drugs, warrants, other contraband—these are all common reasons for hit-and-runs. Hopefully authorities aren’t looking for the easy explanation and are instead getting the family affected by this all the answers they deserve.
Harris County, TX — July 4, 2024, a child was killed as the result of a hit-and-run accident that happened around 11:00 p.m. along Concord Green Drive.
Initial reports about the incident say it happened at Concord Green Drive and Windy Stone Drive, which is an area south of Cypress Lakes High School in west Houston.

According to officials, a 10-year-old boy was on a bicycle going westbound on Windy Stone and was crossing Concord Green. At the intersection, it appears an SUV ran the stop sign and hit the boy. That vehicle then left the scene. The boy was taken to a hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Right now, authorities describe the vehicle as a “dark-colored” SUV. It reportedly dragged the boy’s bike some distance, so it may have damage relating to that. Hopefully these details continue to be spread as much as possible to the public. Oftentimes, a runaway driver sees justice because someone connects the dots and comes forward to point authorities in the right direction. Once that happens, authorities can continue their investigations to find out why this happened and what exactly this driver didn’t want authorities to find out about.
