How Did This Accident Occur?

When vehicles going the same direction collide, it’s usually due to something like distracted driving or unsafe speeds. A late-night crash also brings up concerns for alcohol, which just so happens to be a common reason people flee accident scenes. Of course, authorities usually have to locate runaway drivers to get the full story, and I don’t see any signs right now that’s happened.

Is there any more information authorities can release to the public? Did any nearby businesses save security video of the crash? Were there witnesses who could provide additional details, such as a unique decal on the runaway vehicle or a description of the suspect? The more information there is available to the public, the more likely it is someone comes forward to identify the suspect. Even weeks or months after an accident, new information could come to light.
