Harris County, TX — July 20, 2024, a woman was killed as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 1:05 a.m. along Bammel N. Houston Road.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of Bammel North Houston Road and the Sam Houston Tollway.
Investigators said that a 77-year-old woman was a passenger in a Mitsubishi Outlander going eastbound on Beltway 8. While crossing Bammel N. Houston, a southbound Dodge Challenger ran the light and crashed into the Outlander.
Due to the accident, the woman in the Outlander was seriously injured. Other injuries weren’t confirmed. The Dodge driver reportedly fled the scene. It’s unclear if authorities ever identified the suspect.

If authorities haven’t identified the driver involved here, putting out more information to the public could be a big help. Someone might be able to connect dots the authorities couldn’t. That way, there can be accountability both for running from the scene and for whatever actions led to the crash in the first place. The more eyes there are on a situation like this, the more likely it sees a just conclusion.
