Hemphill County, TX — September 26, 2025, a Hereford man was injured as the result of a truck accident at around 12:30 p.m. along US Highway 83.
Investigations say the crash happened just south of the Highway 33 intersection between Canadian and Wheeler.
According to officials, a 30-year-old man from Hereford was in a tractor-trailer going southbound on US 83. For reasons not confirmed, the truck lost control, and it ultimately overturned. Due to this, the truck driver reportedly was seriously injured.
No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

Single-vehicle wrecks can be complex enough on their own just because authorities aren’t always motivated to give them the attention they need. On top of that, though, a commercial truck wreck can raise unique challenges, given there are a lot of potential factors to consider beyond a typical car wreck (maintenance problems, cargo shifts, poor workplace conditions, etc.). As such, I have to wonder if this crash received attention from well-equipped, thorough independent accident reconstructionists. If not, then my concern is there might be a lot more to this story authorities weren’t equipped to look into themselves.
