Accident Report

Duchesne County, UT — August 28, 2026, Heather Wright, Frederick Wright and Jackson Wright were killed in an afternoon truck accident on U.S. Route 40 near Starvation Reservoir.

Authorities said an eastbound semi-truck drifted off the road and hit a guardrail before crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding head-on with a 2023 Kia hatchback.

The Kia driver, 52-year-old Heather Lynn Wright, and her two passengers, 54-year-old Frederick William Wright and 18-year-old Jackson Frederick Wright, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

The truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash west of Duchesne, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Duchesne County crash at this time.
