Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, people often jump to conclusions too quickly. They just assume that since only one person was involved, fault should be obvious. But there could be all kinds of unique factors contributing to the accident which drivers can’t necessarily avoid. Vehicle defects, tire blowouts, road hazards, medical emergencies, etc. It’s important investigators can show they’ve considered all possibilities so the victim’s loved ones know that they’re getting the full story. If authorities can do that, that’s good. A lot of the time, though, that sort of thorough investigations requires efforts from independent accident reconstructionists.
