Authorities allege that the driver of the Ford was under the influence of alcohol and over twice the legal limit. If that’s true, where was that driver coming from? I’ve handled hundreds of cases involving drunk drivers who were illegally over-served by a bar or similar establishment. Over twice the legal limit is quite drunk, so it wouldn’t at all be surprising if that happened here. Unfortunately, it’s not the sort of thing authorities always look into. Once they have a driver to charge, they tend to move on. So if they aren’t finding out where this supposed alcohol came from here, they may not be getting the whole story.
