Texas has the most complex work fatality laws in the country, and there isn’t always an automatic path that ensures a worker’s family receives answers or support once the investigations wrap up. What happens next often depends on whether anyone is actively pushing for answers on the family’s behalf. Without that, families can be left waiting indefinitely, even when serious safety concerns have already been identified.
