Accident Report
Travis County, TX — April 3, 2026, Gerardo Gomez-Vazquez was injured in a single-vehicle accident at about 2:30 a.m. on Dee Gabriel Collins Road.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2015 Cadillac CTS was heading southeast when it crashed into a ditch west of U.S. Highway 183.
Driver Gerardo Gomez-Vazquez, 21, was seriously injured in the crash near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, according to the report.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Travis County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Whenever a vehicle crashes at this time of night, it’s easy to assume that the driver was distracted, fatigued or even impaired, but I’ve learned over 30-plus years of being part of accident investigations that facts are always better than assumptions. That doesn’t mean one of those factors didn’t contribute to this crash, but is always better to know what happened than simply guessing.
