Phoenix, AZ — October 7, 2024, George Meletis was killed in a bus accident at around 5:00 A.M. on 79th Street.
An investigation is underway into a fatal bus accident that claimed the life of one person on Monday morning. According to official reports, George Meletis was an employee with the Valley Metro bus service and was on-shift when the accident occurred. Reports state that Meletis was standing out by one of the shuttle busses when a separate employee was sitting in the driver seat of a bus and let his foot off the brake.
As a result, the bus struck Meletis causing sever injury which later proved fatal. At this time, there has been no report of any charges or citations being filed, however this remains an ongoing investigation.
