Houston, TX — March 2, 2025, Gavin Melchor was killed as the result of an assault that happened around 1:00 a.m. off of Main Street.
According to initial details about the incident, it happened at a Valero located off Main Street and Westridge near NRG Stadium.
Investigators say that Gavin Melchor was outside of a gas station at the time interacting with three individuals. For reasons unclear, Melchor appeared to be attacked by the three men. Melchor was assaulted, and his injuries ultimately proved fatal.
At this time, authorities continue to look for the three men involved. Authorities have published surveillance video of the incident hoping someone will come forward with names. Investigations continue.

Hopefully the release of the video of these suspects helps authorities continue their investigations into this. Those investigations, of course, should include why this was allowed to go on unchecked. Is this sort of thing a common occurrence at this gas station? Was there no security? Was there any kind of incident leading up to this alleged assault? Finding the suspects involved here is obviously a priority, but a victim’s loved ones also deserve to know they’re getting the whole story.
